21 TODAY!!!

From today... I am now 21.... and i must say.... the first day of being 21 seemed really special...
I dont know how to say it..but its one of those days...we its the perfect day... Nothing bothered me at all....

Anyway, the day before, i went to the church international student event. OMG, it was really goood... I meant a very nice bunch of ppl, had alot of fun..and found singaporeans that were REALLY fun... so YEYEYEYE....

Today, i brought ppl to dim sum..hahaha....I hope they loved it..I did...well...i ordered chicken feet...hmmmmmmmmm...........hahahah

anyway..very tired...so this one is short k

So, apparently some people would like me to put pictures on my blog..OK FINE..I will..But i am not the type who carries the cam everywhere i go...and cam-whore 24hrs...ok i promise...the next few entries..there will be pics... meanwhile, just enjoy my random chattering...

Soon, I will be 21!!! 21! The adult age many say, the age in the point of your life where you have full control of your choices, duties and moralities. Well, i agree with that...though i think i have learnt quite alot of those over the years while reaching 21.

While many of my dearest friends have done their 21 bday in style, mine would be a real small affair.. I may probably be in my room, with a small cake...waiting for the clock to strike twelve before i blow out that single candle..! hahahah...no la...im not THAT louserish....

On another issue, I think that I am becoming bitchier as the time goes by... I pity the person who catches me on my PMS day... which... i do feel is very soon...hmmm... makes me sound like a girl....hmm..HAHAH

well, just a small offering today.. will write soon...

Yoga

Yesterday...

I decided to go for my very first yoga class.. Now, the only reason i was soooo garang to go was because i was instructed too by my teacher. I understand its benefits for any singer.

Well, i was highly optimistic that i would be able to perform....... sadly, my optimism did not reflect on the rest of my body...

First, we did a nice floor stretch..and i thought 'oh thats easy...and calming too'....

But then, as the class went on, I slowly began to question whether i had an old man's body..

"Lift your leg as high as you can" said the instructor.... and everybody gracefully lift their legs towards the air.... I on the other hand... was struggling to get my soles of the floor... I was like..."oh my gosh!"...

Then the instructor said "If you find that easy, now gradually lift your leg and curl".... I was like 'OH MY GOSH' when she showed the move, and i was like 'i cant do that!'

Its official...I have an old man's body!!! Some ppl will also argue that i have an old man's mind too.....hahah

well...just something real funny and stupid... But, i do feel the effects this morning... i feel really stretched and aware of my body... hmmm...looks like im going for the next class then....

Hi

I dont really have much to say today...its just i thought i could be random and just like type something..hahah..I guess thats what a blog is for.

I have found my source of singapore news...guess where...haha..its STOMP!!! hhaha..i know..its not news news..but it helps in reminding me of how ridiculous and clever we singaporeans are! It really brings me back home in a way...and plus..you all know i love gossip!!

Anyway..life here is kind of lonely..i mean..school is fine..but when i am back in my room... its really just me..i mean..there is so much i can study..and so much that is given to me..the rest of the time..im basically alone.......... (which is kind of sad....and yet... i am not really doing anything to change it????)

Rice here is officially NOT rice..HAHAHAH.... no la..its just not as good as asian rice...hmmm...I realise im actually very asian at heart... I realise that asians do have some mannerism that others dont possess...the good and the bad....... I guess i just never felt it when i was in singapore.

Anyway this is enough randomness for one day..

A long time...

I know...its been rather long since my last entry....Please forgive me...since...well..i have forgiven myself...

Anyway... I am spending the weekend learning a Purcell piece...I think im getting there....Its rather tricky......

Today i went to waitrose to get food. I am proud to say i seem to have now not only the excess of food...but spending well within my budget..!!! Looks like i do have an inner shopping aunty inside me somewhere...always looking for bargains...and stuff.. I am tempted to show you a picture of my fridge!!!...HAHA

Keyboard lesson yesterday was ok....I would need to improve the legato on my scales....thats all.

This morning i woke up...my mind knowing its a saturday...and i actually thought i was back home...waiting for ten o clock in order to eat noodle soup..like i do back home every saturday. I also miss the times where somebody has to wake me up on saturday.,.i.e. my mother. What to do, looks like nostalgia and loneliness is settling in...

Well..thats my post for today! Promise to update quicker...

My sunday

Ok...i know its monday today...but its not a crime to update a blog on monday morning before school about my sunday!!!!

Sunday was fine. I manage to find the carmelite priory at High Kensington!! I was sooooo daring to attend the Latin rite... It was well...quite an experience.

Firstly, the priest was soooooo old, and he was walking so slowly.. i swear to you, i thought he was going to go anytime during the mass. Secondly, he was soooo old and tired that when he spoke (which was more like a whisper).. at times i could not tell what was Latin and what was English!!!

The evening i manage to watch my first cinema film in london. 'Coco before Chanel'....
Audrey is a good actress... and the cinematography was very french chic! My only complain is that the direction of the movie could have made the film more inspiring...though for someone who started as a parlour dancer and grew into a fashion legend... Im sure the movie and her life has points for all of us.

Well...Monday is beginning for me... First is English song class...Thank God im not singing today...!!! God preserve me as the day goes by.... Looking forward to movement class... I hope we are not going through Waltz again...

good news.....

Today i will write a rather short entry...cas im tired.....

ANYWAY...i had lesson with Mr Ashworth today....and the first good news is: HE GOT ME TO SING TO AN F#!!!!!....I think its a triumph! I got passed my F on a 'U' vowel!!!!.... I was so shocked when he told me it was F#, because it felt easy for me to do!!!!!

Second good news... two days ago i went to register with the doctor here. I thought i was 78kg...based on my JC2 measurement. I AM NOW 69KG!!!! OMG RIGHT!!! I'm like...are you sure!!!...And apparently, based on my height...i am now SLIGHTY UNDER WEIGHT!!...OMG!!!
I cannot believe it.

Well./..thats all for today... i promise a longer update soon.

Today i started learning 'Rain has fallen'.. from barber.. and 'fruehlingstraum' from schubert.

Somehow, as i was in the practising room and in my room listening to the songs, practising and discovering the lyrics, shape and technique aspects of the two pieces. I suddenly realised that i had fallen in love with the songs!!!

I guess in my had a renewed spark that sprang to life!!..And i felt my heart telling me that having the opportunity to discover such beautiful Music was the reason why i am in london in the first place. Somehow, this gave me great comfort.. especially since, the schedules are busy and the prospects of finding friends are still bleak.

Somehow, i found myself becoming like a recluse monk!! HAHA. I seem able to give more of myself to the songs. I guess its because it seems to be my only way, for now, to express myself so openly, away from all the 'socialising' i have to do in school.

Lately, it seems some people want to know how is it like in school...HMMM....

HAHAH....well, to tell you guys honestly, its rather difficult to make friends.

I know, i know.. all of you experience the same thing in uni.. But it seems everyone here is a social butterfly... with the ability to go around, intro themselves, flirt and make friends.

As those of you who are close to me know that im actually very very shy and introvert at the first contact, i found myself at the student union pub event last night... alone with a pint of beer........

Thank heaven for sending me two pianist nice enough to talk with me. Though.. we talked about politics most of the night. And yes, i left early....

Such a loser....i know!!

On the brighter side... I FINALLY MET MY TEACHER!!

His physical description is one of a very tall man, with a deep voice. He is generally skinny and has grown a good beard. He pronounces 'good' as 'gut'... though he is english...

Anyway, he seems to be really quiet and a thinker, i was actually rather unprepared for my meeting with him as he called me only hours before to arrange the lesson. Luckily, i have been practising .. so i managed to sing handel and wolf with him.. THOUGH...i was sooo excited and tense.. i did not fully open my voice....!!

He seems to think alot, stopping me at points to think to himself, and then type his thoughts down on his laptop...

In short...i think he is right for me!!

But lets see what happens....

One last thing...BRITISH ADMINISTRATION is the slowest thing in the world... From their banks to their doctors... EVERYTHING functions 3 times slower than back home..WHAT TO DO..

As i was taking my nice warm evening shower tonight, i began wondering whether im ready for school.

I mean, its been like what three years since i had any institutionalised education, though, for the past three years, i have been learning music and singing. I guess, it is about getting back to the idea of having a school, a time table, lectures and classmates...oh..and canteen food.

I wonder what type of people i will meet tomorrow...while they be glam? bitchy? quiet? competitive?...and would i make friends...or find that special someone>>???..i dont know. I guess only God knows where my life would lead me. I mean, just three years ago, I was very sure that i would be in SMU by this time, ploughing through statistics.... and now, im here in London. I guess all i can do is trust providence.

I think i am a very different person since my JC days.... hmmmm...I dont know whether its a good thing or a bad thing, but i have never really reflected on my actions during those JC years..maybe i should have...maybe if i did, i would have become a better person than i am now...

Well, i can finally say bye bye to army and limbo life. Its time to study, and do what i love most to do. I wonder though, how are the army ppl doing...........

well. I will update on my first day tomorrow!!!

Today was rather a lazy sunday....

I found a nice small church near where i live (one tube station away).. its part of the chaplaincy for the University of London...

The priest was a very old man...who not only preached real slow...he ate the communion waffer real slow too............

Then i did a small walk walk of kensington gardens. Oh! I got pictures,.... see i got pictures of swans on the lake, and the palace and the nice garden...

it was a very very cool refreshing afternoon walk!!!

I decided that i better have a blog to communicate with myself and the rest of the world while being all alone in this cold country...hahhaha..so emo...

I am trying to make my room into a home.....fit for a princess....i know..its impossible, but at least i wont feel as if im in an alien place...

anyway, i have managed to upload pictures of the room... see, i have a nice desk, a few shelves...i manage to put pictures of family, Ms Jeong,ting and Brend.... and i have flowers outside my window......

OH..i manage to tour buckingham palace.....rather enjoyable...
